Patterson’s response to COVID-19

Over the past several days and weeks, the Patterson team has been closely monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) to understand how it impacts our employees, customers and communities that we serve. It is our top priority to keep you and our employees safe, and we have taken several measures in order to meet this objective.  Learn more about these measures, as well as the latest information about COVID-19.  

Coronavirus update from Eric Shirley, President, Patterson Dental

Dear Patterson customer,

I am certain that this is one of several communications you’ve received regarding coronavirus (COVID-19), and I’ll be brief as I update you on what we are doing at Patterson Dental to ensure that you, your patients, and our employees all remain served and protected.

We are carefully monitoring the latest developments and recommendations. Some of our customers are following recommendations made by dental associations or other agencies to close their practices except to serve emergency cases. Some of our customers are in cities or counties where these recommendations are even stronger. We are also aware that these recommendations will change, and are likely to get stronger as we move through the next few days, and we will comply with all associations and agencies in supporting those recommendations. Here is what that means to you:

• We will have limited capacity to offer our field-based technical service functions. This is to keep our service techs safe, and it is also to comply with local, national and federal guidelines and recommendations. We will be able to offer service capabilities in most markets for emergency services, but we may not be able to offer non-essential services in the short term.

• We have instructed our field-based sales and support teammates to limit interactions with you and your staff.

• Our teammates are working from home in as many cases as possible, or as required by local jurisdictions. We are complying with social distancing recommendations and we have eliminated gatherings in our facilities.

• We are continuing to keep our fulfillment centers open so that we can get products to you safely and securely, and we have implemented enhanced safety measures at all of our facilities. 

• We are experiencing demand in the infection control category that is much higher than normal, but we are working diligently with our suppliers to have products available to you, and are allocating incoming supplies based on typical ordering patterns. Short-term outages will undoubtedly occur, but we are doing all that we can to minimize these instances.

 
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation during these rapidly-changing times. We are grateful for the business relationship we have with you, and we will continue to work extremely hard to serve as a resource for you and your teams as this situation continues to unfold.

We continue to closely monitor the coronavirus situation and are diligently working with our suppliers to meet the higher than normal demand for facemasks and other infection control products. We anticipate disruption in product availability and order fulfillment in the weeks ahead. Based on this disruption, certain high-volume items may be backordered or out of stock when you place your order. You may be asked to remove the item(s) from your cart as the product may temporarily be unavailable.
