X-Ray Extraoral Film
X-ray extraoral film, also referred to as panoramic and cephalometric film, is used when administering an X-ray from outside a patient’s mouth. Extraoral radiographs are done for a number of reasons, such as needing to capture a larger, overall image of the mouth and jaws or when a patient cannot tolerate films being placed inside the mouth.
